The neighborhood is charming and full of little seaside cottages. It is possible to walk for miles on the beach, to the Birch Bay State Park. The park has 8,255 feet of saltwater shoreline on Birch Bay and 15,000 feet of freshwater shoreline along Terrell Creek. Check out our guide to the area. There is also a boat launch at the Park.
You can rent bikes or bring your own and because you are across the street from the public beach access it is a perfect place to launch your kayak or paddle board. A small grocery store, fun beach bars, fabulous coffee shop, restaurants, and a liquor store are a short drive away, bike ride or walkable. Just a little over a mile each way. My family and I love Birch Bay and had a fantastic recent vacation. We checked in easily at Vacationville, and the unit was clean and tidy and looked like the photos. The building is right across from a public beach (perfect sunset-watching spot), and a hose is on the property for washing off any sandy dogs and feet! The only thing(s) I would mention is the walls are paper-thin, the bed and pull-out couch are quite springy, and there is an additional pet cleaning fee after booking. If you're a sensitive sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it, as you can hear everything from upstairs (I did have to ask the upstairs unit to quiet down after hours), and the bed isn't the most comfortable. Other than that, it's a nice little spot!
We had a great stay with our pup
Very clean, great location. Just surprised that the cleaning fee is so steep! Not sure I would have booked it if I'd seen that total in advance. Still, very nice place and good access to the beach, restaurants near by.
We had a great stay! Location was perfect, you can walk to the restaurants and bars (under a mile) as well as directly across the street from the beach!
The condo has all the items needed, was clean and very responsive hosts who were flexible with allowing us to check-in early. We appreciated their accommodations and look forward to staying again!
Thank you!
