We had a wonderful time staying at the Cabin by the Bay! It was a peaceful and relaxing trip. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook, the bedrooms and living room are spacious, and the deck is perfect for midday meals and sunset viewings. The host responded to all our questions before/during the trip and we easily found spots to eat a short distance away. The water is a 60 second walk from the cabin and there is a lovely path to walk on. We plan on coming back soon!
We really enjoyed our stay! Very peaceful and close to the water!
Great location! Cute little town!!! A nice get away for our family vacation.
Great property and location!
Clean and nice place! Has a deck with a nice view of Birch Bay. Was easy to walk around the Birch Bay neighborhood from this central location.

We LOVED our stay! As other reviews mentioned, this is a comfortable (not fancy) house that feels like your Grandmother's beach house. It's very homey, clearly a well-loved home for many generations. Bedrooms were quite comfortable, and had blackout shades -- helpful for northern Washington in midsummer. There are two bedrooms on the ground level: one had some kid-friendly touches that our 3-year-old loved, and it was right next to the second bedroom, which was convenient for my husband and myself to be near our kiddo. The third bedroom was upstairs, on the same level as the kitchen, living room and deck, which was perfect for my father-in-law, who is 86 years old with bad knees, so that kept his stair-climbing to a minimum. There is one shower (on the ground level), but there are toilets on both levels. The kitchen is modest but had everything we needed to cook full meals (oven, toaster, pots & pans, knives, microwave, etc) -- my son/husband have many food allergies so eating out is tricky. The second floor deck just off the living room was so wonderful! We ate almost every meal outside. There is a clear view of the ocean just a stone's throw away, and at night the stars were beautiful. The only drawback was the direct sun during some of the days made it a little too warm, but we were so lucky that the neighbor across the street spontaneously offered to loan us a pop-up tent and help us set it up, and it helped immensely. Possibly the best part of this house was how CLOSE the water was! I think this was undersold in the property description...it was literally a 60 second walk, two houses down and cross one road and you're there. The low tide/high tide difference was huge, and provided lots of fun educational opportunities for our son, finding crabs, clams, mussels and sand dollars. At high tide the beach is rocky, but the house has camping-type chairs available to use. We got lucky because there was a sand sculpture contest the weekend we were there too.
The host, Rosemary, left a lovely welcome note with saltwater taffy and a little toy for our son. She was very communicative and responsive throughout, and even sent an electrician over the morning after we arrived when some of the outlets in one of the bedrooms weren't working (they were fixed by noon). Every question we had, she answered within minutes. She picked up our garbage partway through the week and offered fresh towels as well.
I would say the only drawbacks were some of the older parts of the home...the sofas were a bit worn, and my father-in-law had trouble getting up out of them. There is no air conditioning, but with open windows and a fan that Rosemary brought, it made things comfortable. If you have kids, the stairs are fairly steep and wooden, so they are slippery. Our son needed to be accompanied down the stairs each time after a couple close calls. But overall we loved the area and the ocean access, the home was comfortable and the host was great.
this is an older, quirky and cute cabin. terrific view, relaxing and quiet area. the neighbors are very nice as well.
we had plenty of room inside its very bright and had nice breeze.
it is a 1 and 1/4 bathroom, all 3 of the bedrooms are nice and big and private.
Rosemary is terrific to work with, very responsive and professional.
We enjoyed staying here. The place is across the street from the water; there’s a great view from the deck as well! Rosemary left us a nice treat of champagne and taffy, which was welcomed :)
It’s an older place so expect the place to look as the pictures show.
